Every day, thousands of children in India lose their birth parents. There is an urgent need to provide them with shelter and care until adoptive families are found for these children. Pumpkin House for Children USA, Inc., is supporting a recently established residence for abandoned and orphaned children near Ahmednagar, India, approximately 150 miles east of Mumbai (Bombay). The home for children is located in Vidyanagar, a village near Meherabad, the spiritual center of the Indian master, Avatar Meher Baba. The inspiration for this project is Meher Baba's example of selfless service to humanity. The home is operated by an independent trust, with respect for the faith traditions of all residents.
